Who Can Read My Private Writing?

Nobody can read your CipherWrite data — not hackers, not governments, not even CipherWrite employees. Here's why.

Short answer: Only you.

Here's who CANNOT read your writing on CipherWrite:

  • CipherWrite employees — We use zero-knowledge encryption. We physically cannot access your data.
  • Hackers — Even if our servers were breached, attackers would find only encrypted blobs that are useless without your password-derived key.
  • Governments — If we receive a legal request for your data, we can only provide encrypted blobs. Without your key, they're meaningless.
  • AI companies — Your data is never used for AI training, ad targeting, or analytics.
  • Third parties — We don't share, sell, or expose your data to anyone.
  • Google Docs: Google employees and algorithms can read your documents
  • Notion: Stored in plaintext, accessible by employees
  • Evernote: Attempted to let employees read notes (rolled back after backlash)

Your privacy is not a setting on CipherWrite — it's the architecture. Read more about our security approach.
